Yes. Masters of Albion is set in the Albion universe from the Fable games. Peter Molyneux created both the original Fable series and Masters of Albion. The game includes references and lore connections to Fable history. However, Masters of Albion is not a Fable sequel — it is a god game set in the same universe with different gameplay mechanics.
Masters of Albion is developed by 22cans, the studio founded by legendary game designer Peter Molyneux (creator of Fable, Black & White, Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and Theme Park). Mark Healey (co-creator of LittleBigPlanet and Dreams) serves as Art Director. The game is described as a spiritual successor to Black & White and Dungeon Keeper.
Gameplay Questions
Each day cycle has two distinct phases. During the day, you build and expand Oakridge freely — no timers, no pressure. You gather resources, train workers, craft equipment, and plan defences. When night falls, monsters emerge from the darkness and attack your town. You defend using a combination of automated turrets and walls (built during the day), your hero (who fights automatically or under your direct possession control), and the God Hand (your divine powers). Surviving the night begins a new day cycle.
The God Hand is the physical expression of your divine power — the cursor through which you interact with the game world. It allows you to pick up and move buildings, throw objects at enemies, cast divine powers (lightning, fire, boulders), possess any creature in your realm, and interact with the world at a scale impossible for individual workers. It is both your primary building tool and your combat weapon.
Territory expansion is controlled by the Beacon system. Your God Hand only functions within a sphere of influence centred on Oakridge and any activated Beacons. To activate a Beacon, possess a hero or creature and navigate them to the Beacon's physical location on the map to interact with it. Each activated Beacon expands your buildable and controllable zone in that direction, unlocking new resource areas, quest locations, and building sites.
Yes. The building combination system is one of the game's core mechanics. Placing two compatible buildings in direct physical contact allows them to merge into a single combined structure with enhanced functionality. Examples: Smelter + Forge (faster iron processing and weapon production), Farm + Kitchen (faster food production chain), Barracks + Armoury (soldiers trained pre-equipped). There is no fixed list of valid combinations — experimentation is encouraged.
Possession is a God Hand ability that transfers your perspective from the god view into the body of any creature in your realm. You see through their eyes and control their actions directly. It is used for: first-person hero combat during night waves, activating Beacons through exploration, navigating caves and tight terrain inaccessible from the god view, and precise resource manipulation.
